Miami Palmetto Senior High Scholarship Winner Pursuing NBA Dream
Each year, Panter, Panter, & Sampedro awards collegiate scholarships to students throughout Miami-Dade County. One of those scholarship programs is in conjunction with Miami Palmetto Senior High School. The annual scholarship award is based on the student’s community service and academic achievements. This year, however, the 2019 recipient, Albert Hernandez, displayed exceptional achievement, drive, and passion, inspiring the Firm to double the scholarship amount.
“Panter, Panter & Sampedro has been involved with providing scholarships to numerous students in the past. Each year there are many deserving and qualified candidates and we work hard to award the scholarship to a candidate that works outside the box to reach high goals. This recipient was an excellent candidate for all that he has achieved in his High School career. Not only was Albert Hernandez academically superior, his out of school achievements in his community showed us that this was a future leader,” said Mitchell Panter, Managing Partner of Panter, Panter & Sampedro. “Our usual scholarship was doubled because he showed us that this was a great investment for Albert Hernandez, his family, and our community. We applaud Albert Hernandez for his accomplishments and look forward to many successes for him.”
Hernandez is now enrolled in college where he is pursuing his dream career of becoming an NBA strength coach. Recently, he wrote a letter to Panter, Panter, & Sampedro with an update on his progress. Hernandez currently records film for the basketball team at Florida Atlantic University and is taking part in a research project on injury prevention, which will be focused on the women’s basketball team.
