THE FIRM’S ATTORNEYS
Brett A. Panter is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and primarily practices in the area of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, product liability and premises liability. At age 30, Brett Panter was lead counsel in a wrongful death case against Alamo Rent a Car wherein a jury returned a verdict of $7.7 million dollars. The verdict was later upheld by the Third District Court of Appeal. Mr. Panter has obtained many other verdicts and settlements for his clients in excess of a million dollars. Brett Panter was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1984 and is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate at the University of Miami three years later. Brett Panter is a frequent speaker and participated in The Million Dollar Advocates Lecture Series. He is a commercial multi-engine rated pilot with over 25 years of experience.
Mitchell J. Panter has been Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1996. He is admitted to practice law before all Florida state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. His primary areas of practice include personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, sexual assault, food contamination and premises liability cases. At the age of 31, Mitchell Panter argued the case of American Aerial Lift v. Perez in the Florida Supreme Court which addressed the issue of strict liability in a products liability claim. This precedent setting case affirmed a verdict of $1.7 million dollars obtained by the firm on behalf of a worker injured due to a defective scissor lift. Mitchell Panter is a leader in the community serving as Past President of the South Miami Kendall Bar Association, B’Nai B’rith Bench and Bar, and the Pinecrest Business Association. He is also a frequent lecturer on topics such as personal injury and medical malpractice.
David Sampedro is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer whose practice primarily focuses on catastrophic injuries, automobile negligence, premises liability, pharmaceutical negligence, nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, and products liability. David Sampedro has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of the Best of the Bar as published by THE SOUTH FLORIDA BUSINESS JOURNAL; he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate’s Forum; a Past President of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Dade County Bar Association; and a perennial speaker and writer on an array of legal topics in his area of expertise. He has repeatedly been named to FLORIDA TREND’S Florida Legal Elite, a select group compromising the top 2 percent of lawyers practicing in Florida. Mr. Sampedro has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients and recently was lead counsel in a case which resulted in a $7.75 million recovery for a client whose husband was instantly killed after being crushed by a tractor-trailer while working.
Zachary S. McWilliams graduated from Indiana University in 1999 and from the University of Miami School of Law in 2002. He specializes in first party insurance disputes, personal injury protection (PIP), and civil litigation claims. Mr. McWilliams is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
Joshua L. Wintle is a trial attorney whose interests and skills span all areas of the firm’s practice. While Mr. Wintle focuses on complex litigation issues, such as worker’s compensation immunity and construction accident liability, he practices in all areas of catastrophic injury liability. Mr. Wintle has participated in trials resulting in multimillion dollar verdicts for clients who have been severely harmed by medical neglect, catastrophic construction neglect, and other areas of negligence. Mr. Wintle serves as a Director for the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and an Officer of the South Miami Kendall Bar Association.

$3.7 million settlement for a 48-year-old man who was hit by a forklift while working in the refrigerated area of an airline facility at Miami International Airport.
A verdict against a local city in the amount of $3.7 million following a traffic accident involving a police officer driving at a high rate of speed.
A sub-contractor ordered to pay $3.6 million following a verdict where a crane operator made contact with a live electrical power line which resulted in a laborer’s right arm being amputated. This followed settlements totaling $2.4 million from other parties partially responsible.
A jury awarded the father of two young children $3.2 million when the driver of a rental car lost control of the vehicle, striking the father’s car and causing catastrophic injuries.

A settlement for more than $2.3 million to the family of a man who was mistakenly given the wrong medication at a local hospital. A 78-year-old woman was hit by a car while viewing Christmas lights and received a settlement of $2.3 million within four months of the accident.
Over $2.1 million recovered on behalf of victims who suffered severe side effects after being prescribed Baycol, a statin intended to lower cholesterol and manufactured by Bayer.
The owner of a building agreed to pay over $2 million following mediation to a severely burned woman injured during an explosion while working with flammable gas in a poorly ventilated building.
