Panter, Panter, & Sampedro Awards Three Scholarships, Donates Laptops to High School Students
MIAMI – May 31, 2019 – Panter, Panter & Sampedro (PPS) is proud to announce that it has awarded three scholarships as well as sponsored the purchase of five new laptops for several high school seniors in Miami-Dade County.
Daisy Rivero was honored as the winner of Miami Killian Senior High’s annual Lorraine Silverstein Award. Named after a law studies teacher at the school, the $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who excels in Killian’s law studies program.
A second scholarship was awarded to Miami Palmetto Senior High School’s Albert Hernandez. The $1,500 annual scholarship award at Palmetto is based on the student’s community service and academic achievements.
The third award recipient, Katerin Cangas, was honored as an outstanding senior in the Legal Studies program at South Miami Senior High School with a $1,000 scholarship. In addition to Legal Studies, Cangas carried a full course load including Advanced Placement classes as well as Cambridge and Honors courses and had a 4.29 weighted GPA. The award was presented to Cangas at a South Miami-Kendall Bar Association luncheon in April.
In addition to the scholarships, PPS also donated the funds to purchase five new laptops to be given to graduating seniors at Miami Southridge Senior High School who will need the computers as they begin their collegiate careers. The funds were collected as a part of the Start Up Program.
“Each year we have the privilege of honoring several deserving high school seniors with scholarships and equipment to support them in their collegiate endeavors,” says Mitch Panter, managing partner of PPS. “We are always amazed and inspired by the students in our community. We’re grateful to get to know them and do what we can to reward them for their outstanding efforts.”
