On June 23, 1994, at the annual judicial luncheon at the Florida Bar Convention in Orlando, Dade County lawyer Mitchell Panter was named 1994 Law Related Education Attorney of the Year by the Florida Law-Related Education Association. Presenting the award for the Association, was Stephen Shenkman, past chair of the Florida Bar Schools Committee.
The Executive Director of the Association, Annette Boyd Pitts, explained that Mitchell was being honored for years of dedicated service to the Mock Trial Program and law-related education in general.
Commenting on the award, John Doyle, an Administrator for Dade County Schools, stated, “Without Mitchell Panter there would not be a mock trial. He is just marvelous to work with; you just ask him for something once and get out of his way.” Panter, who is a partner at the South Miami law firm of Panter and Panter, serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Dade. Bar Association. In the past, Dade attorney Dennis Kainen was similarly recognized.
