Mislabeling Leads To Pain Reliever Recall

Mislabeling Leads To Pain Reliever Recall

Mislabeling Leads To Pain Reliever Recall 1080 1080 Panter, Panter & Sampedro

Consumers were stunned to find that what was in their prescription bottle was not what they thought. 500 mg tablets of Methocarbamol, a generic form of the muscle relaxer and pain medication Robaxin, were recalled this week due to a packaging error.

Bryant Ranch Prepack is recalling one lot of 30-count, 60-count, and 90-count bottles. On the packaging, it states the pills contain 500 mg strength tablets, when in fact, the dose is 750 mg.

The FDA recall notice states, “If a patient takes a 750mg tablet of Methocarbamol instead of the prescribed 500mg tablets, it potentially could result in excessive central nervous system depression which may result in nausea, sedation, fainting, falls, seizure, coma, and death.”

How does an individual know if their Methocarbamol has been recalled? They may check the red and white label on the round packaging. The recalled lot is numbered 163935 with an expiration date of October 2022. Bryant Ranch Prepack is also contacting consumers about the recall by letter and email.

If an individual has questions about this recall, they may contact Bryant Ranch Prepack by phone at 877-885-0882 (Monday-Friday, from 7 am-6 pm PST) or email compliance@brppharma.com.

What To Do If Your Medication Has Been Recalled

If an individual’s medication is recalled, they should immediately call their physician and pharmacist. A replacement medication should be provided. An individual should then safely remove the prescription medication from their home. The safest way to do so is through a ‘medicine take-back.’ Before an individual takes their medication to a take-back site, they should remove all identifying information from the bottle(s). All medications will be destroyed or donated at either a permanent take-back site or periodic event. To find a collection site, visit the DEA’s Diversion Control Division website
