Worker hit by a truck in construction site expected to live

When drivers approach a construction zone, they need to be increasingly careful of their speeds and the area around them. Sometimes, construction work can come up quickly, to it’s always vital to pay attention to the road. If you’re hit while working in a construction zone, you may be able to make a claim against the driver and request workers’ compensation while you recover.

A construction worker was struck by a vehicle in Yulee after the vehicle was rear-ended near a construction site. The worker has not been interviewed, as he’s been hospitalized, but the reports show that he was injured as a result of two vehicles that did not stop in time.

According to the news, both drivers claimed there wasn’t enough warning to know about the upcoming construction, causing a delayed stop that led to the accident. The driver that struck the construction worker said he was hit from behind, and that the worker, because of this, was struck. The worker was pinned under the truck, but fortunately, the driver of the truck is a firefighter. He said he attempted to help him at the scene until medical help could arrive.

The news reports that the worker will survive; he was taken to the hospital by ambulance with unreported injuries. As of now, the police are investigating to decide if anyone is at fault, which will require information on the warnings about the construction zone, what the drivers were doing prior to the accident and information on if either driver was speeding into the area at the time of the crash.
